Auchlochan Garden Villages are currently seeking a Coach Driver to join our team working 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a Category D1 Minibus License.

The successful candidate will provide a daily bus service to Residents of the Auchlochan Retirement Village according to a set timetable. They will show a caring attitude towards users of the bus service and will be able to build good working relationships with users of the bus service, while adhering strictly to the requirements for confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • To transport passengers to and from the Retirement Village, efficiently and with all due care.
  • To be responsible for pre-operative safety checks, logging all mileage/journeys undertaken.
  • Be guided by the need, traffic and road conditions permitting to keep to a timetable, which gives consideration to the level of disability of the Residents.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and regulations. Be alert to hazards for residents, staff and others.
  • To ensure that the mini-bus is clean and serviceable (internally and externally) and to report any need for maintenance as soon as the need is apparent. To confirm the vehicle is road worthy before being bought back into service and keep the Manager of Auchlochan informed of due dates of required services, tests etc., to keep the mini-bus legal and roadworthy.
  • To deliver mail and other items around the site as required.
  • To be contactable by Auchlochan by means of a mobile phone or other mode of communication whilst out on any journey.
  • To report any accident, near miss or vehicle damage immediately as occurs to the Manager or other appointed person of Auchlochan.
  • To report to the Manager or appointed person any problems regarding the health or mobility of any residents causing concern whilst using the mini bus.
  • To take part in staff meetings and training as required, both of which are
  • To undertake formal mini-bus driver training and testing as required or laid down by Auchlochan Garden Villages

Auchlochan Garden Villages are currently seeking a Head Gardener to join our team on a full time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and gardens of the village and to ensure that the necessary services and checks are made either internally or by appointed professionals. You will be responsible for the team of gardeners.

Key Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the General Manager, draw up a planned maintenance schedule and assist in the appointment and supervision of appropriate contractors to carry out routine servicing and maintenance.
  • Be aware of maintenance manuals of electrical and mechanical equipment used in the grounds and gardens, Health and Safety File and Property Handbook where appropriate.
  • Be aware of Manual Handling hazards and comply with the requirements of the Manual Handling assessments.
  • Liase with the General Manager regarding maintenance budget planning and control.
  • Be responsible for minor repairs and general maintenance work when required.
  • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and, where appropriate, produce risk assessments.
  • Maintain the lawns, gardens and other areas such as drives and paths and ensure all garden equipment is maintained.
  • Propagation and production of plant material required for estate use.
  • Attend and participate in regular formal supervision and appraisal meetings
  • Daily supervision of staff, students and volunteers, carrying out regular supervision and appraisal meetings and implementing training where necessary.
  • Respect residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Assist in the induction of new staff, in accordance with the induction policy.
  • Liase with relatives, advocates, friends, volunteers and other professional agencies and other visitors to the Village in relation to matters relevant to the post
  • The provision of guided walks and talks to visitors, interested parties and horticultural societies
  • To co-ordinate the provision of and maintain on site amenities for service users e.g. putting green, croquet lawn, allotments
  • Be aware of and adhere to the organisation's Health and Safety Policy Manual, and carry out maintenance as described in the policies and maintain appropriate ./ records
  • Be aware of and adhere to the policies as contained in the Employment Policies and Procedures Manual.

Our stunning retirement village in Scotland offers a tranquil retirement community for over 55s. Set within 50 acres of beautiful grounds including a peaceful walled garden and our very own lochs. Auchlochan Garden Village offers a range of charming retirement living properties to rent near Lesmahagow, South Lanarkshire.

As a successful Estates Manager you will be responsible for managing, developing and evaluating all aspects of service Auchlochan Garden Villages grounds, within policy guidelines ensuring that all relevant legislation, organisational policies, procedures and codes of practice are adhered to. You will provide a tailored, resident focused and comprehensive housing management service whilst leading and motivating your team.

 

The ideal Estates Manager will have a proven track record of the understanding and application of building health and safety regulations. You will have experience working with in property maintenance whilst been responsible for budgets and a small staff team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of relationships with local
  • Liaise with the central estates function as per organisational process and procedure
  • Provide active support to the Estates team on a day-to-day basis ensuring the effective running of the 50-acre site.
  • To ensure the effective management of issues raised across the village and monitor the tracker to ensure timely communications with residents and completion of tasks.
  • Ensure the buildings and equipment are safe, serviced and maintained
  • To ensure there are systems in place to always establish effective communication.
  • To maintain and update the Property Handbooks and Property Records Books
  • Management, repairs, allocations, lettings and arrears collection
  • Undertake annual Health and Safety Audits across the site and preparing a report and action plan on your findings.
  • Review Fire and Legionella Risk Assessments and obtain quotations for any remedial works required.
  • Assist in the planning of the periodic preventative maintenance programme.
  • Annual and monthly health and safety audits
  • Management of Bistro and supporting services e.g domestic, laundry and gardening staff.
