Role Summary

About the position

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating memorable dining experiences by assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals. You will also ensure the cleanliness and organisation of all crockery, equipment, and kitchen areas.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Collaborate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, supporting a seamless dining experience for residents.
• Proactively engage in learning opportunities to enhance culinary skills and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
• Undertake dishwashing duties, maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards for all utensils and equipment. Ensure proper storage and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, adhering to rigorous hygiene protocols.
• Uphold statutory Health and Safety standards within the kitchen and dining zones. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the safety policies and execute emergency protocols effectively.
• Monitor the condition of appliances and equipment, promptly addressing any malfunctions or hazards. Keep the Home Manager informed of maintenance actions taken.
• Champion a culture of safety among colleagues.
• Design diverse menus tailored to accommodate specialised dietary requirements, ensuring inclusivity and satisfaction among residents or guests.
• Maintain meticulous records of food and delivery temperatures, adhering to company policies for routine inspections and checks.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and promptly replaced if necessary, facilitating smooth culinary operations.
• Oversee the ordering, receiving, and verification of all deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality in procurement.
• Demonstrate reliability and enthusiasm in fulfilling culinary responsibilities, displaying a genuine passion for cooking and a proactive attitude towards work.
