Staying active
50 acres of grounds, 4 lochan (small but beautifully formed lochs) and a charming walled garden give you lots of options for enjoying the great outdoors. The fountain lochan is stocked with Brown Trout for fishing or try your hand at Croquet or Putting on the lawns. Indoor exercise includes seated or standing tai chi, yoga, and line or Ceilidh dancing.

Be pampered in our hair salon or book a treatment with our visiting specialist. Our Bistro is open 7 days week and the monthly theme evenings are very popular and great fun for all. The apartments communal spaces are hubs of social and gatherings and our main event space ‘The Douglas Suite’ hosts concerts, events and church services.
Out and about
Our very own village bus runs daily trips to the local shops and supermarket except on the days when we have excursions further afield to places of interest or into Glasgow for city exploring. The M74 junction 9 is only 4 miles away meaning that you can connect in a car both north and southbound very easily and be in Glasgow in 30/40 minutes.
Spiritual Wellbeing
The village has a team of Chaplains who are there to look after your spiritual needs whether pastoral or religious. The weekly service broadcast from the Douglas Suite is ecumenical and members of our community arrange separate prayer meetings. Residents also arrange visits to nearby specific denominational churches.
